Hello
I'm thiniking about to do a small practise module for the univerity for practise Ethercat comunications. My idea is tap into the ethernet port of my PC (Windows 7) as a Ethercat Master (with some software or something else) and use a Shield EasyCAT with arduino like Ethercat Slave. It's possible to do something like this?
I don't have much idea about this terms so any help would well for me.
Thanks

Hi salcedo01,
Please read this thread, which should address your question. In particular, this comment explains that the NI EtherCAT enables Real-Time (RT) controllers and desktops to act as EtherCAT masters. The NI EtherCAT driver does not enable Windows systems to act as EtherCAT masters, as Windows 7 is not deterministic like RT operating systems are.
You can use the NI EtherCAT driver to communicate with many non-NI slaves using a cRIO, RT Desktop PC, or RT PXI controller. Feel free to let us know if you have further questions.
