Can DNP3 be used for software updates ?

Hi,

Can DNP3 be used for software updates ? Does DNP3 supports peer to peer communication? If yes, then is it between masters or between outstations or both?

Hi Kalpesh,

NI DNP3 toolkit supports file download/upload/deletebetween a master and outstations, and the such functionaility of the oustation side is only supported on CompactRIO.

(DNP3 by license is only supported on CompactRIO deployment. On PC it can be used as development and prototyping.)

DNP3 doesn't support P2P. It's of the client-server model.

NI DNP3 tool kit is supports deployment to CompactRIO and PXI. PC uses is limited to prototyping and debugging.
