Bosch - Rexroth SDI plug-in

Hello

We are considering using HCS01 Bosch-Rexroth drives in an EtherCAT network in a motion process. So far, I have seen on the forums that these drives were based on SoE (Sercos Over EtherCAT), which was not supported by LabVIEW. In NI weeks 2015, it was announced that Bosch-Rexroth and NI were in a partnership to develop a SDI plug-in for SoftMotion. I have been reading about it but the only information that I have found is that it is "Coming soon".

I attach some papers about it:

https://www.ni.com/en/support/documentation/supplemental/15/using-ethercat-motion-drives-with-ni-rea...

http://www.boschrexroth.com/en/xc/company/trade-shows-and-events/niweek-2015/niweek-2015

I would like to know if someone have some news about its release or should we consider finding another alternative.

Thank you.

And_Ord,

Support for Bosch-Rexroth IndraDrives is not yet finished, but there are plans to finish and release it later this year. Unfortunately, I do not have a date it will be finished, so the best answer continues to be "coming soon." When it is complete it will work with drives set to the CiA 402 drive profile over CoE (CAN Application Protocol over EtherCAT).

DeviceNet is a popular existing communication protocal for freq drives. See http://koldwater.com/Devicenet-Training-Tutorial.html There is also a Hydraulics Training certificate course there. If eithernet, I would stick to standard Industrial Ethernet protocal.
