VAB software failed to close the DSK 6711 board

I am using the VAB for Infinity software with a 6711 board in a college DSP course.  On occasion, when a student disconnects or shuts down a board improperly, a message pops up indicating that the VAB software failed to close the DSK 6711 board.  Once that happens, subsequent launchings into VAB gives us a message that only one instance of the board may be open, therefore it doesn't recognize the board.  We can't eliminate that message unless we reboot the PC.  Is there a way, via Task Manager, or some other tool, to manually close out the past instance of the DSK 6711 board so that we won't have to reboot to clear it?

Re: VAB software failed to close the DSK 6711 board

The VAB software makes use of a Texas Instruments DLL in order to communicate with the DSK6711 hardware. Unfortunately if the VAB software is not able to properly close the board properly upon exit (e.g. perhaps board is removed) & can no longer establish communication with the DSP upon a new VAB session then a computer re-boot will be necessary to re-establish PC-DSP communications. Regards, Steve
