Can VAB for Infinity run on Windows Server 2003? When I tried to
do an install, it gets past the enter CD and then give me the error,
Missing .exe. Is there something that I am missing? Thanks,
The VAB Infinity software installation is designed for Windows 98/2000/XP and may not adequately support an installation on Windows Server 2003. It is possible that the problem you have seen is due to an installation error. I do not have access to Windows Server 2003, and am unable to duplicate the problem. You may want to verify that the CD installs properly on a supported Windows OS to confirm that the problem is not one of a damaged CD. Regards, Steve
I think I've also seen this on Windows 2000 Professional.
Might you have a solution for this package.
One thought here, I believe that my problem would go away if I could
de-install the VAB (version 1.3) that was previously installed and
start from scratch....?
I don't know if there is a way to do that, and you may have another solution...
I'm not aware of any VAB Infinity installation problems on Windows 2000 Professional, and having a previous version of VAB Infinity on the computer shouldn't have caused this problem. That being said, I would recommend that you do uninstall the older version prior to installing the newer one. First, you may need to un-authorize your older copy of VAB (this depends upon the CD-Key used when the product was installed). Launch VAB and check the Help menu for an "Unauthorize" menu option -- complete the unauthorization process if this is an option. Then use the Windows Control Panel to remove the VAB software from your computer. Once the older version has been removed you can proceed with the new VAB Infinity software installation. If the new installation still shows the same problem (i.e. "Missing .exe") then it could possibly be a damaged CD. Do you have a VAB Infinity CD from a second kit that you could try? Regards, Steve
