Re: Where to download instruments drivers?

By the way, what advantages confers a self-made program on LabView over the Ni-Scope Soft Front Panel?

Re: Where to download instruments drivers?

Maggots,

The Soft Front Panel just allows you to do quick measurements with basic functionality:

  • Load/store waveforms
  • Load/store device-specific configurations
  • Make scalar measurements
  • Use NI-SCOPE utilities such as Auto-Setup and Self-Calibration

When you use the NI Scope with LabVIEW, you will be able to pull the waveforms into LabVIEW to process them in software. Programming with LabVIEW also allows you to do multiple device synchronization, handle continuous acquisitions, among other things. I would check out the examples folder once you have everything running. Navigate to Start»All Programs»National Instruments»NI-SCOPE»Examples to find them.

Re: Where to download instruments drivers?

I have reinstalled the ni-scope driver and now I have access to the same menu of that of your screenshot. However, I am afraid that the thing won't work properly as my hardware (a PCI 5105) was already installed in the computer when I reinstalled the software. This could be a problem as it is clearly said to install software before hardware in the manual.

Do I have to take the PCI back out and then in again?

Re: Where to download instruments drivers?

Although the problem I mentionned, LV seems to reckognize my PCI-5105 because I can put itd MAX asigned name into the input name of the initialize function.

Re: Where to download instruments drivers?

Maggots,

I don't believe it matters too much if your card is inserted at the time of driver installation, it is just a good safety precaution to do so. I would just give your computer a restart after installing, and you should be good to go. The fact that your MAX and LV can detect the card is a good sign.

Re: Where to download instruments drivers?

I guess it's going to be all right too.
