Question about PXI-5105 with external sample clock

Hi,

I am now using PXI-5105 to get data.

My question is about using external sample clock (about 30MHz).

Is it necessary to set external sample rate? Can 5105 detect sample clock frequency automatically?

The exact external clock frequency is unknown in my case.

Thanks.

Re: Question about PXI-5105 with external sample clock

Hi Minmie,

The set sample rate is used to determine the xIncrement within the cluster (or dt of waveform) acquired. You do not need to set the exact sample clock value in order to acquire data. 5105 does not detect the frequency.

Best regards,
