No output on Aux I/O of NI5761

Solved!
Go to solution

Trying to get output on the PFI (Aux I/O) connector of a 5761, but it does not work.

The NI5761 is connected to a PXIe-7975R.

The highest four bits of the Aux IO are set to outputs by sending 0xF0 to "IO Module\PFI Write Enable", and "IO Module\PFI Connector Enable" is set true.

When I send 0xF0 to "IO Module\PFI Output" the upper four bits should go high, I suppose.

Nothing happens (I see no change on my oscilloscope).

I can read data from the lower four bits.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Kees_D

Have a look through this forum post - it may help:

http://forums.ni.com/t5/PXI/How-to-select-the-PFI-line-to-use-on-the-AUX-port-of-the-5761/td-p/20393...

Please also try setting all 8 DIO lines as outputs, and see if you can write to them this way.

If this doesn't help, please attach some screenshots and/or your code.

Thanks,

Amy

Problem solved. Was a stupid mistake of me. Took output from the wrong pins.

Works ok now. Sorry.
