Minimum Requirement for SOM9651

Hello,

I have designed a board for SOM9651. At the moment I am trying to connect to the SOM module on the board. As it is the first startup of my board, I did only place a minimum configuration of components to get startet.

This includes:

- Ethernet0

- USB0

- 3.3V Supply of the module

- 3.3V Supply of Bank1

- 1.8V Supply of Bank2

- 3.3V Supply of Bank3

- Reset, Status LED and Temperature warning Pull UP for DIO35

- a few I/Os to be testet later on

The status LED of the module starts flashing, when the power is on. It does react on the reset button ... but it will keep on flashing when the reset button is released.

The discription of the status LED flashing in the "System on a module OEM Device" specifications is not very clear about this fault. Is the module damaged? Is the problem caused by a bad design? I have ordered two more modules, but I haven't received them so far.

so long, ...

dear matt

I recommand check reset voltage. It might be a mistake to hold reset

voltage by mis circuit design. I also have a similar problems at my fisrt

test board.

Keep it touch your status.

I had a similar problem, custom carrier board, NI SOM blinked status lights, briefly responded to the reset button and went back to blinking. Never responded to pings, nothing on the serial-0 port.

Voltages were fine, I swapped it out with a different NI SOM and it worked perfectly. Apparently one of them in the batch we got was deffective or something. No problems since.

Thank you for your response.

I had low voltage on the module supply about 3.1V

Now the module is working.
