Twin notification emails

If I subscribe to a forum board then I get a handy email for each new thread which ensures I don't miss out on anything interesting.

However, if I then post a reply to a thread I thenceforth receive TWO (identical) emails, one from the board subscription, a second from the automatic thread subscription.

 

Does anyone else suffer this? Is there a simple way to configure my account to prevent this, or is this a bug?
