Suggestion: Option To Turn Off Selected Boards

There are so many posts in this forum that I couldn't find a repeat of this.  My searching didn't find anything that matched either - at least not in the first page or so of results (and I tried a few different terms).

When viewing the NI Discussion Forums page, there are a LOT of discussion boards visible, including a number in languages I don't understand (and am unlikely to learn).  There are a few in which I (currently) have little interest as well.

I can't seem to find a way to turn off display of those boards - not even temporarily.

It could be useful (to the users, at least) if there was a means of selecting which discussion fora to display.  It could be similar to Usenet fora, where you can download a list of groups and subscribe (or unsubscribe) to specific groups.  I'd be happy enough if it was done via cookies on the local machine, but that could be problematic for those who read these fora from multiple machines.  An opt-out selection stored on NI's servers would be most user-friendly for those who fall into this latter category.  (On the other hand, it's not unknown for people to have different preferences depending on where the reading is happening.)

Thoughts?

Regards,

Geoff

You can go the opposite route:  float the boards you are interested in.  Go to the board and choose float under the options menu.

So that's what "Float" means.  It's still not entirely what I was after.

For instance, is there a way to move the "My Subscriptions" section closer to the top so I don't have to scroll as far to find it?

I'd like to turn off or at least move whole sections (such as the "additional products" and "specialist" sections and sections related to languages I have no hope of reading) to declutter the page a bit.

Regards,

Geoff

Going back to interesting threads:

Use your profile page.  Recient Posts, All posts and Recient Kudos Given sections are great ways to track short and moderate term threads of interest.  TAGs will persist forever use them to get back to ideas you want to check on.

I actually have my profile page set as one of my home pages.... it keeps me current at a glanceSmiley Wink
