Poor site performance

forums.ni.com has been very inconsistent for more than a day with slow and incomplete page loads.

The ping times can be in the hundreds of milliseconds and packetloss is up to 50%.

Here is a ping output from just now:

> ping -t forums.ni.com

What's the problem? Maintenance? Technical difficulties? DOS attack?

The problem is back again since last night. Forum is almost unusable! 32% packet loss is way too much.

Is anyone looking into this?

Forum is getting really unusable. 😞

I give up. I'll try again in a few hours.

Still the same. Am I really the only one? Seems to affect ALL lithium forums (e.g. verizon, lenovo, etc.). All seem to stall at the Lithium Border router.

Discounting the possibility that Lithum network engineers don't know what they are doing, my best bet is that they are under DOS attack. Maybe they pissed off one too many powerful spammer cartels. 😄

I'm seeing it as well. And a couple times over the past several days. Pinging forums.ni.com seemed quick enough.  The initial recognition of the page loading is happening fairly quickly, but it is a long running progress bar while waiting for the rest of the page to load so that anything is readable.

I thought the problem was at my end, because I observed the same performance issues in February and early March.

Thanks for posting Christian.
