Pointless "See more..." link

I noticed the following link at the end of some threads abstracts:

Clicking on it leads to:

Another example:

gives this:

Overall, it seems to be working as a "See ONE MORE LETTER" link.

Note that I am discussing the usefulness of this feature but... what's the point exactly?

Actually even that statement is incorrect. It should read "See AT MOST ONE MORE LETTER...".

In some cases:

you actually don't get anything more:

Whoever finds one example where you see less when you click "see more..." gets my kudo.

That particular "see more" function clearly isn't working as intended. We'll have to investigate this.

I suggest it is completely removed in this context.

Same on mobile. The "see more..." link should point to the same place as the posts subject line.
