It would be very helpful to those that respond to question if there was a text entry box at the Ask a Question | Compose step that was manadatory for the version of the software in question.

At present it is up to the indivdual whether the version is quoted in the problem text.

Thank you for your feedback. I have added your suggestion to our feedback list. One of the things we are implementing is a more streamlined question posting process (reduce the number of clicks necessary to post). We are currently investigating ways to make sure all the relevant information is included, and your suggestion of ensuring version information is included with the post is a good suggestion.
