File attachments

When I attach example programs (VIs) to answer questions posted here on the DE, they lists as "Binary executable" only. Would it be possible that you add more details about the file, i.e. LV version it was saved under (I add that in my text most of the times), if it is a single VI or a library file and so on? /Mikael

Hi Mikael,

Thank you for your question about attachments and displaying more information regarding the file type. Unfortunately, the system is not built to detect the version of LabVIEW for the attachment. It may be possible to have it say something slightly more descriptive such as "LabVIEW VI" instead of "Binary executable" when it encounters a file name with the extension of ".vi". I'll check to see if it is possible to have more descriptive text displayed based on file extension.

Your method of manually adding the text for the attachment is currently the best way to document the version number of the file.

Thanks for your suggestion!

Best Regards,
