Using NI-4472 with Dolch NotePAC Plus

I wish to use the Dolch portable NotePAC Plus with a 4472. There is a mismatch of power requirements.

The Dolch NotePAC Plus can supply the following (4472 requirement is in brackets):
on +5V = 2 amp (2.60 amp)
on +12V = 0.3 amp (0.12 amp)
on -12V = 0.1 amp (0.12 amp)

Can I use the 4472 with NotePAC under any condition (say just for 2 channels instead of all 😎 ?

This is URGENT.

We have successfully used one PCI-4472 with the NotePAC.

At the time of the test, Dolch made us aware of a 20W the limitation of the PCI carrier (2 slots), meaning only one PCI-4472 should be expected to work since two PCI-4472s would exceed the 20W rating. We confirmed the proper operation of one PCI-4472 and failure of two PCI-4472s, per specification.

To specifically answer your question, the PCI-4472 consumes the same power whether acquiring 2 or 8 channels of data.

Thanks a lot Greg.

I understand that it is OK to use ONE 4472 in the NotePAC Plus with all 8 channels connected to ICP type sensors (and thus providing signal conditioning for all 8 channels).

I need clarifications on other Dolch products too; like using 4551 with the FieldPAC.

Can you please email me directly at to enable a more intense discussion?

Best,
