PXI-4071 in digitizer mode : ppm reading + ppm range ?

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I would like to use my PXI-4071 DMM board in digitizer mode. But I must calculate the accuracy of the measurement to compare it to other instruments I have.

When reading the PXIe-4081 specifications, I can find the DC Voltage accuracy values when in digitizer mode. But for the PXI-4071 I can't find such information.

What are they ?

For the PXI-4071, are they the same in DMM and digitizer mode ?!

Hi,

How Do I Calculate Accuracy for DMMs?

Hope this link can be helpful!

Thanks!

Frank,

Looks like you posted an unlisted knowledge base.

OP,

The uncertainty listed in the data sheet is only valid at maximum resolution (which tops out a seven measurements per second).  In digitizer mode, you have to add the "additional noise error" listed after the measurement type's uncertainty calculation (e.g. for a DC voltage measurement, see page 5 of the specification sheet).  However, note that the maximum specified "additional noise error" sample rate is just 0.01 power line cycles, which means the uncertainty calculations only apply for sampling rates below ~1500 Hz.

Above 1500 Hz, the PXI-4071's accuracy simply isn't specified.
