USB-6501 Z (high impedance)

I am trying to use the IDW library to create a master using the USB-6501. My problem is the Write DAQmx gives an error when it try to use 'Z' setting for high impedance. Are there any work arounds for this?

6501 doesn't support Hi-Z state... low-cost vs. high-performance, and you've got a low-cost DIO. 

Might be able to set the output to an input, but there's still the internal pullup you'll be fighting with.
