NI USB-6008 is not reliably recognized by my computer when plugged into a USB 2.0 port

I have an NI USB-6008 and a Keithley 2400 connected to a USB 2.0 port of an Acer Aspire running 64-bit Windows 7. It has become a game of chance as to whether or not LabVIEW or MAX will recognize the devices, even if the computer sees them, even with only one connected. My typical solution is to dismount the device and reboot until it works. I had actually switched from running Windows 7 in Bootcamp on a Mac to the Acer hoping to resolve the issue (because I know port mapping was an issue). This was the case back when I started with LabVIEW 2011 and is still going in 2012. Any thoughts, for the NI USB-6008, would be greatly appreciated because I'd like to be able to reliably train others how to use it. The vi's I created work when LabVIEW recognized the device.

Hi draadj3,

When the devices do not show up in MAX/LabVIEW, are you able to see them in your Windows device manager? If device manager recognizes the device and it does not show up in MAX, this generally indicates there is an issue with NI Device Loader or the MAX database has become corrupted. We can troubleshoot the NI Device Loader service by following the instructions in this knowledgebase article http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0819391CA91B3EB38625731D00024649 . If that does not resolve the issue, please take a look at http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/2C7480E856987FFF862573AE005AB0D9?OpenDocument . This knowledgebase will instruct you how to repair a corrupt MAX database. Please let me know if you are still having issues after following the instructions in the aforementioned knowledgebase articles.
