It sounds like you have a problem with windows and file associations.Talk to your IT department. The current version of the configuration utility is called NIMAX.exe but I have no idea what it was called on such an old os.

So, you decided not to use the most current version and instead you are trying 6.5.2?

I try the possibility to work in labview 5.1 operating windows 95 version.

I will solve windows probelm and contact you soon.

I got labview 8.2 version which is compatability with labview 5.1.

So i installed labview 8.2 operating in XP.

I am using Field point hardware FP 1000, so i installed field point 5.0.1

In my old labview 5.1, Ni-DAQ 6.5 was used.

I would kindly request you to please tel me which NI-DAQ version for labview 8.2 and also compatability to support hardware already used  in 5.1 version.

wIll you please help me how to configure and test an NI DAQ board by MAX.

I am kindly request to help me to find NI-DAQ card suitable to my applications.

I am using labview 5.1, fieldpoint FP 1000, NI-DAQ 6.5, Field point explorer version 1.6, Measurement and Automation Explorer 1.0.1.

my probelm "connection to acquisition board was not found" when i run labview program is due to DAQ board was not there in my CPU, so o plan to purchase NI-DAQ board.

I also have labview 8.2 (since labview 5.1 compatability with 8.2), field point 5.0.1, NI-DAQ 6.9.3.

from the forum i read 

NI-DAQ 700 card is used in  NI-DAQ  driver 6.6 on labview 5.1 operating windows 95.

also 

NI-DAQ 700 card is used in  NI-DAQ  driver 6.9.3 on labview 8.2 operating windows XP.
