NI 9411 Digital Input Module - What's the function and features of this module

Hi Sir/ Mam

I'm new to NI and it's hardware and software platform.

What is the function of NI 9411 and why does an encoder needs this device to measure its values in real time and forward it to the host PC.

What is it's advantage over the devices similar to it in market?

 

Can you give me an outline about it??
