How to configure voltage between 0 and 2.5V for digital signal generation using NI PXI 6561?

Dear all,

I am trying to generate with NI PXI-6561 a digital signal waveform with '0' digital signal corresponding to 0V and '1' digital signal corresponding to 2.5V. It seems to be possible with regards to the specifications of the card.

When I use the box "NI HSDIO Configure voltage", I have the following error : "Error -1074118626 occurred at niHSDIO Configure Data Voltage Custom Levels.vi : Driver Status:  (Hex 0xBFFA401E) This attribute or function is not supported in this session. Ensure that you are not using an acquisition-only attribute or function in a generation session or a generation-only attribute or function in an acquisition session."

Do you have any idea why?

How can I generate waveforms between 0V and 2.5V using NI PXI-6561?

Hello ncouniot,

The NI PXI-6561 device is a LVDS only digital generator. It means that it respects the LVDS standard (which is ANSI/TIA/EIA-644) and it is a.o. not possible to modify the signaling voltage levels of that device. See the following documents for more information on LVDS:

http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370520K-01/hsdio/fdiff_logic_families/

http://www.ni.com/white-paper/4441/en

Can you point me at the specification document where you saw that it is possible?

If you want to specify custom voltage levels, you should use a single-ended output generator. Devices from NI-654x and NI-655x families offer that possibility.
