In your snippet above: the write is outside the while loop, it that correct? And, what's the vi with the "?" and the digital waves inside the while loop?

The data being written is stored in a hardware buffer so it does not need to be in the while loop. The VI inside the while loop is a DAQmx Is Task Done.vi. Used to make sure the device is in a good state before exiting the while loop and clearing the task.
