VIPM Windows - Start - Link

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,
I also found out the way for creating entries in the start menu with the VIPM.
But it seems that the VIPM does not really support windows link files (*.lnk).

Please see the added screenshot:

VIPM_link_files.png

The pdf files will be shown in the VIPM but the link files not.

Is this a problem inside VIPM, is this known and wished or am I doing something wrong?

One workaround would be to rename the LNK file to a different extension before building the package, and after installing the files using VIPM, renaming it back using a Post Install action.

I don't know how and why VIPM treats LNK files, and it also seems to vary whether it is a link to a file or to a folder.
