Build API for GPIB Analyzer to interact with LabVIEW

Status: New
by Member Shawn_S. on ‎06-21-2011 02:16 PM

There is currently no API available to develop applications that will use the functionality of the GPIB Analyzer. There are customers who would like to be able to monitor the GPIB bus from LabVIEW, so this would be helpful.

There is also no API to intercept the GPIB traffic of a program on the machine its running - the NI Spy / Trace can show you the traffic and log it to a file but there nothing you can do with it. NI Spy / Trace can be 'launched' from Labview but there is no real time flow of data to LW in order to do anything with the data

The API should be an extension of the MAX with built-in LW tools to extract and inject GPIB traffic in real time promiscuously - basically 'Wireshark for GPIB'.

Our lab would pay for such software...
