Error 8 on TDMS file Open with Datafinder Server Edition
 
We have a test system that first creates a TDMS file, adds data, closes the file then immediately reopens the file for report generation.  The first time the file is opened we use "open or create" mode.  The second time we open the file it is "read only"
 
We are experiencing a problem with the second open. An error code 8 is returned on the file open.  This error started to occur when the Datafinder server was installed.  It does not happen with the 'regular' 10.2 datafinder.

There is only one datafinder indexing the data directory.
 
We suspect that the datafinder server is locking the file.
 
Is the current Datafinder server edition the 'same' as the datafinder in Diadem 10.2?
 
Any other suggestions?

Hey Jim,

I'm wondering if this problem you're experiencing is a difference in the versions of USI installed (Universal Storage Interface).  Since USI is the underlying technology behind the storage VIs in LabVIEW, it would seem a likely culprit.  Please post the version of USI you have installed (this can be found in Measurement and Automation Explorer in Start>>Programs>>National Instruments if you select Help>>System Information).
