DAC: How to great a connection with an other Device

Hello,

in my company do we have a supplier which is creating a meassure device for us.

Now I would love to have the option that I can command this device through DIAdem DAC.

What have we to do, to create a communication module?

Is this like a open source or do we have to buy it or how does it work at all?

Hi Tom_the_dude,

We have several options to create a communication between DIAdem and hardware. A comparative simple solution is the so called Script DAC Driver. This is a VBScript which handles the communication via interface (serial, IEEE, parallel etc). More detailed information about that you find in the DIAdem help and on the following web page:  Script DAC Driver

Alternatively you can use a programming interface (GPI) which of course cost more effort because you must develop a device driver in C++. More detailed information about that you find on the following web page: GPI

If you would like to let a device driver be developed please let me know (walter.rick@ni.com) so that I can make a contact to a company which is familiar with developing device drivers for DIAdem.
