In the report area you can select a common x channel.

This option would also be very helpful in the view area.

Either change the VIEW settings "default file" behavior to include when a user selects a "new layout" or add a new setting called "new layout file".

From a user perspective I think the "layout parameters" settings are a little confusing.  It is confusing to alter a setting, then choose a "new" VIEW layout and have that setting disappear.  I think many users would enjoy being able to control the "new" VIEW layout as well as the VIEW layout that loads upon program load.

The VIEW "Layout Parameters" setting "Word wrap" value is not persistent and does not seem to be saved to the DIAdem desktop "Desktop.DDD" file.  I think it should either be persistent or added to the saved parameters for the Desktop.DDD file. So if I change it, and close/reopen DIAdem, the setting is always changed back to deselected.

The workaround is adding "View.Settings.UseMultilineLegend = 1" to some startup script which is fine, but I'd prefer it to be persistent upon changing it.

[Tested on DIAdem 2020SP1]. When you work with VIEW panels, it is often important graphs be synchronised. Even though it is possible to do it by using "Band Cursor", I find it a little bit confusing. More specifically:

1) It is not possible to automatically align the right frames. Of course if you sync axes, they are expected to be also visually aligned, or you will not be able to compare signals. You can manually adjust those frames, but alignment will never be perfect.

2) Once you sync your axes, if you scroll up with the mouse, it zooms out, if you scroll down, it zooms in. I would expect it'd have worked the opposite way (scroll up = zoom in, scroll down = zoom out)

3) Similarly, if you left-click the mouse and move it left or right, the behaviour is the opposite than the expected one (at least of the one I'd have expected)

4) It would be great if you could manually define the requested time range. For instance, if you want the time range to be exactly from 5s to 10s, you should be given an interface to do so. As far as I know (correct me if I am wrong), there is not such an option.

I use n Systems Y-axis viewing a lot, often with groups of channels defined into common axes with Curve Related Scaling.  The only way to save this is in a TDV file, which locks it into that specific layout.  I cannot share a scaling definition with another View area or sheet in the same layout - I have to manuall enter all the details again every time.

Would it be posisble to allow Curve-related Scaling settings to be sharable in some way, so they can be more easily re-used both within a single session, and across sessions, independently of the complete TDV layout?

I’d like to be able to write a script that would tell me which columns a user has selected in a VIEW channel table (for example, the blue columns shown in the attached image).

It would be helpful if the Colorchannel in Map VIew can be customized (by color and by according value-range). Users would be able to to their own color channels, and value ranges.

In REPORT, you have the option of using a "Joint x-channel", which allows REPORT to use the x-channel of the first curve as the x-channel for all other curves in a 2D axis system.

I would like this exact same functionality in VIEW.

It makes searching for frequencies in signals easier

It would be great to add numeric display boxes to VIEW area (similar as implemented in DAC area). These display boxes could show info such as e.g. Gear, Speed or Text status messages which don't have to be shown as time trace.

Hello to all,

it would be nice, if i export my report to view that the 3D axis system will be implmented as a picture like it

would be done with the video from view to report.

Thanks a lot

I would like the cursor values to always display in decimal form (as opposed to scientific form), regardless of value size. There is plenty of room on the base of the window, as well as the box that pops up, and the scientific form does not show enough precision.

Hello,

Because it is only possible to play a driven route including graphs in the DIAdem VIEW and the cursor is hardly visible in this view it would be a good feature if it is possible to change the cursor style/cursor line thickness. See the attached video for an example of the hardly visible cursor.

With kind regards,

Stijn

For a VIEW Contour, CCN results in the Y-channel instead of the Z-channel, which is less convenient if trying to link to group properties where the Z channel is in a different source group from the Y channel.

Visible when adding freetext:

@@chnname(CCN)@@

Would it be possible to have the Z-Channel as the CCN channel value (hoping this is just a leftover from VIEW's standard 2D functionality, rather than a 'feature')?

Hello!

One of our users recently reported being unable to change individual VIEW 3D Contour legend item widths.  When attempting to drag the individual legend item borders in a contour, they immediately snap back to the original size.

Attempting to script this also fails to work (doesn't error, just doesn't change the size):

VIEW.ActiveSheet.ActiveArea.DisplayObj.LegendItems(1).Width = 100

2D Graphs already have this functionality, so it's more a consistency item...This is not a high priority, but a feature that would be desirable in future versions of DIAdem.

I am trying to push DIAdem as an analysis tool.  Some of the Engineers use VBOX for DAQ.  I downloaded the plug-in to mess with their data.

I was really looking forward to using the GPS to make a map and plot speed, accell etc...  I could only load street maps.

Satellite maps would be very usefull.  There are no roads where we we are taking GPS data.

Has anyone been able to load custom maps or satellite maps?  DIAdem needs more map options in the drop down.

Sometimes I want to measure differences between points of different curves which I show in a View 2D diagram. For this it would be excellent to be able to hook the cursors to 2 curves instead of always the same curve.

Example: a fit line and the data set. Try to find out, how far the data oint is off the fit line.

Just as a suggestion.

Consider the ability to add a non-orthogonal secondary axis to an axis system in VIEW and REPORT and a non-orthogonal axis system with arbitrary angle.  Many complex plots have typical 2D axes and additional axes overlayed at some angle.  This would allow creating complex plots (ternary plots, psychrometric charts etc.)

At the moment if you want to give an area a title you have to create another area text to it and set the type to text box.

I believe an improvement would be to set the title for the area itself.  It would look neater and would take up less space.  Something like the new subdiagram label in LabVIEW 2012 perhaps.

When selecting a matrix structure set of channels for the z-matrix, DIAdem currently allows a user to select the first channel when the triplet channel radio button is chosen, and then locks that first entry as the first Z channel in the z-matrix.  When the user wants to select the last channel in the z-matrix, they then have to click the "..." box to the right of the greyed out box that has the first Z channel in the z-matrix displayed.  I was going to suggest that R&D work on the ability to chose channels that are not consecutively arranged within the data portal.  I feel it would be more intuitive to hold down CTRL and select the Z channels that make up the z-matrix.

Cheers!
