RS232 input & modbus on same com port

I will be using a 16 channel RS-232 master input module and a couple of 16 channel RS-232 slave input modules all from one serial port. This will be a RS-485 network to multiple RS-485 devices on a total run of less than 200 feet. I also have to use at least 1 Modbus input module. The Modbus device can have a RS-232 to RS-485 converter at it's end. Can the RS-485 / Modbus input module coexist on the same serial port? Or should I add a second serial port to the PC?      thanks

Hello,

the RS232 driver and the Modbus driver are 2 several projects (DLL's) under DASYLab and don't share the open handles from a (open) COMx port. It's necessary to use different COMx interfaces for communication.

Best regards,
MHa
