power measurement in multisimmultisim

Hi all,

Is there any block in multisim used for active power & reactive power measurement  if i have voltage & current waveforms. I know that this power measurement block is present in labview, but i want to implement my project only in multisim. For that i need this power measurement block in miultisim.

Waiting for reply.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Well, I don't remember if there is power measument block in multisim because I don't use it for a long time ago.

However, you could create your own instrument only for this task in LabVIEW.

This means that you will go first in LabVIEW, create two inputs for voltage and current waveforms, take measurements and create two outputs for active and reactive power.

Once you have finished your LabVIEW instrument, you could place it on Multisim to take and display your measurements.

Here below you will find more information about creating custom instruments in LabVIEW.

Hope it helps!

Doesn't the Wattmeter Instrument do what you need?

Thank You for the reply.

Wattmeter which is present in the multisim measures only active power but I need reactive power measurement.  So  please help me in finding out reactive power

The wattmeter instrument supposedly provides power factor, from which reactive power can be calculated http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_power#Reactive_power.  Does that work?
