I got this request back from a PCB fab house:
"It seems as though the zip file that you uploaded at xxxx contains files which are large due to thousands of drawn features on certain layers. Please adjust files to reduce the number of drawn features for example if the planes are created with thousands of .001" lines increase the line width or output as surfaces. "
The layers objected to are 2,3, 4 and top silkscreen of a 4 layer board and are 200-300 kB ea. The top layer was not objected to and is only 7.7kB. The layers seem to be of similar complexity so I don't see why the big difference in sizes.
I've never come across this request before and I've sent designs to several different fab houses, though this is a new one. Any idea what the deal is or how to satisfy this request? The same files at another vendor seem to be acceptable.
