I found this thread by searching for a way to do the same thing I found the answer my self, I choose another layer one of the mechanical layers changed its colour to black then with that layer selected and the others hidden placed the text you just have to print it as a seperate layer but it works for me.

ignore the above it can be made to work but is not so straight forward and you need to reverse the coulors the combine your seperate print outs, this realy needs fixing in the software
