Me:
I've been using Multisim/Ultiboard for about 3 years to do circuit board design, so I consider myself to be a decent intermediate level user.
My Question
Whenever I transfer a schematic from Multisim into Ultiboard, it auto-populates a lot of the part attributes.. things like RefDes, Part Value. They also are updated if anything changes on the schematic and I do a foward-annotate. How does the software know which schematic part properties go to which footprint attributes? Is this because they have the same "tag" name? If so, can I create custom user fields in Multisim that also get auto-filled into an Ultiboard footprint attribute?

Hi there,
Thank you for your post. Some components have already assigned the footprint accordingly while some do not. We must assign the footprint first then it can be forward-annotate correctly. This forward-annotate is based on the Part's RefDes.
For "custom user fields in Multisim and auto-filled into Ultiboard", right now we do not have this feature.
Best,
