Invalid subckt definition name

Hi, guys

I imported CD4046 spice model which is used in Cadence capture program into Multisim.

However, I got an error message, I don't know what it is.

Here is the message.

And also, when I import the model, model pins were not matched with datasheet. Thus, I rearranged the model nodes in edit component in DB.

However, on schematic page, pin numbers didn;t change. Is that okay?

SPICE Netlist Error in schematic RefDes 'u1', element 'xu1':  Invalid subckt definition name '0'
SPICE Netlist Error in schematic RefDes 'u1', element '<unknown>':  Due to errors, the subckt instance 'xu1' has been omitted from the simulation
======= SPICE Netlist check completed, 2 error(s), 0 warning(s) =======

The issue is that there is no SPICE model attached to your component. If you have already created the model in Multisim, you need to link it to your component.

To do this:

  1. Double-click on the component to invoke its properties
  2. Click Edit in DB
  3. Select the Model tab
  4. From here, you can select Add/Edit to link the model to the component
  5. Once you are done, map the model nodes according to the pinout in the model

To add the model in Multisim, go to the User Database and select Add once you're in the Select a Model dialog. If you're still having issues, let us know.

I am already done pin mapping, but I am not sure about user database.

I cannot find user database tab. Where is it?

When you open the Select a Model dialog, you will see the various databases to select from there. There should be Master/Corporate/User available

When I double-click on the component and go to the Model tab, the model data is EMPTY and that the model is a lossless transmission line.  Here's what I see exactly:

20335i4F6E397D505E8963

Do you see something different?

Unfortunately you won't be able to import this netlist since it's a particular digital syntax that Multisim does not support. Multisim supports SPICE/XSPICE/Pspice(analog) syntax, but not this particular digital syntax.

Oh, I see.

Then, don't you have any Phase lock loop model?

Hi,

Yes! You will find the PLL_VIRTUAL that can be customized based on the component's paramaters in the Mixed Group > Mixed Virtual family.

There are also customers who have created their own in the past. If you search the forums you'll find similar threads on this topic.

Hope that helps!

Natasha
