In using the Spectrum Analyzer in a circuit simulation I learned that the 0dBm reference is 1mW in 600 ohms. This is approx. 0.775V . 0dBm in 50 ohm would be approx. 0.224V. Why is this using the 600 ohm system instead of 50 ohm in RF?

Morning halking,

This is a known issue. According to our R+D department, our spectrum analyzer has infinite input impedance. This makes it act as more of a generic "frequency analyzer" tool rather than a typical Spectrum Analyzer instrument.

However, I'd recommend you to post your idea in the NI Exchange Idea in order to ask the interchangeable load feature.

Regards,

Carmen C.
