6032TAN_CAP pins not connected

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

The 6032TAN_CAP-footprint fits exactly the SMD capacitors I bought.
When I add an electrolytic capacitor to the schematic, choose this 6032TAN_CAP as footprint (pic 1) and assign the pins to the nets (pic 2), both pins are not connected to any net in Ultiboard (pic 3).

Any ideas?

Regards,
Johannes

Hello Tintifax,

attached my test and it seems to work. I tested with MultiSIM and Ultiboard 13.0

Please check under edit footprint if the pins are mapped.

Hope it helps.

Hello Alexander, thanks for trying it out!

You choose a standard capacitor which works fine.

Could you please try it out with an electrolytic capacitor?

When I take your project and change the capcitor to an electrolytic type, mapping the pins fails.

Hi,

thanks and sorry for the late reply!

That's weird, when I open your project the pins are connected properly. When I copy one of YOUR elcos the pins are connected properly too.

But when I add a new elco and assign the 6032TAN_CAP package the pins are broken 😞

I'm clueless.

Thanks for your help so far.

Johannes

Hello Johannes,

thanks for the feeback. in this case have you the option to

test on a different PC, or

to repair the installation of Multisim and Ultiboard or

replace the Database with a working one.

Hope this helps.

Hello Alexander,

I uninstalled and reinstalled the complete NI Circuit Design Suite 13.

Nothing changed.

So I guess my version was "shipped" with a corrupt database.

How can I repair it?

Johannes

Hello Johannes,

to verify this, you can download the evaluation version from the circuit design suite and use this for installation and then use your serial number to activate it. The second way is to use my modified component.

Hope it helps.

Good idea!

The evaluation version worked! 🙂

Seems like the download-version for students here at University of Technology Vienna is corrupted. I will report this to our IT.

Thanks for your help,

Johannes
