Instead of "getting the answers" to these questions, you should learn enough LabVIEW that you understand the question sufficiently that the answer is obvious. To answer this question, you need only to understand the concept of a "simple state machine" and how it is coded in LabVIEW. If you do not understand this concept, then when the question changes ever so slightly, you will be completely lost if you "only know the answer to this specific question".
