I still think the question was poorly stated. I have used Method 1 to dynamically call a VI. I have used Method 2 to insert a VI into a subpanel and execute the VI. In general, both methods “will allow the execution of the subVI” with the exceptions I stated above. Was I supposed to make the assumption that the code above was written on the same block diagram?
It doesn't matter if they are on the same diagram. If you try to use the invoke node to run a VI using a Strictly Typed VI reference, you will get an error. I even tried this on a reentrant VI and still got the error.
