What I meant was that she does not ask for my opinion. We just have to accept her choice.

I can picture it going something like this 😉

"Hey Honey would you date a LabVIEW programmer?"
"What's LabVIEW?"

"It's a programming environment"

"Why are you asking me this? Are you trying to set me up with someone?"

You raise a good point though. Maybe a secondary question should be "Would your daughter date a LabVIEW programmer?"
