In any case, seeing the post as bold doesn't mean that it is not read, but that there are other unread posts in that thread. Maybe there's an unread post in one of the previous pages and you didn't see it? The easiest way is to look in the board view under the new column. You will see the number of unread posts in the thread and you can click it to go to the oldest unread post.
