Your camera wasn't in there was it? I got the D90 with an 18 to 200 mm lens.. Love it.
Of course it was. ![]()
Fortunately it was up top, and tucked away in its case.... relatively safe from the oil massacre below.
You've got the same setup I do. Works pretty well for a lens with that wide of a range... more distortion on the wide end than I'd like and mine has some focusing issues at the far end. But I really can't complain too much about it. Once I get some other glass I'll probably ditch the 18-200.
Just shy of 300 miles on the bike this weekend. Yesterday (Sunday) a buddy and I rode to Woodland Park (Pikes Peak area) for lunch and back, mostly dirt. All the little cafes and restaurants we usually stop at have closed down.
That racked up another 160 miles.
Saturday's ride turned out to be longer than I expected... forgot how far it was to Blackhawk from my place. What was going to be a short evening ride turned into a 122 mile adventure.
Went around "the other way" from my usual route... putting the uphill climbs in the loose rocky technical stuff, and the easy downhills on the hardpacked FS dirt roads. Funny thing about that dirt bike is that the harder you ride it, the better it runs.

I love my dirt bike. ![]()

Well, I thought I would give a perspective from a different mode of transportation. I spent last week on Lake Michigan competing in the Chicago to Mackinac race and returning the boat back to Chicago. We were the 5th boat (out of approximatley 380) to cross the finish line. We were the 2nd boat in our fleet and section across the line. With corrected times (the race is handicapped) we finished 4th out of 22 in our section and 12th out of 41 in our fleet. Sailed about 800 miles total last week. Here was my home away from home (that is my son reading).

While everyone else was downloading LV2012... I rode my motorcycle, watched the sunset, and annoyed an owl. ![]()

Nah, you want a hawk for protecting the garden. By definition a falcon hunts prey on the fly. A hawk hunts prey on the ground. The owl would do a good job as well.

T-minus 4 days. ![]()
Saturday: Snowmobiling!

I like my new toy. ![]()

Sunday: Motorcycle race. Not sure why I thought that'd be a good idea after a day of snowmobiling.

~50 miles (8 laps) in two hours. MX + Enduro track.

Today ... I am sore. ![]()
