509 crew got some new cameras last year and got some impressive shots through the season. Good soundtrack too ![]()
These guys can ride.

Getting some rain out here... finally. The fires are getting out of control, several areas I frequently ride are on fire right now. ![]()
This pic's going around fecebook, from the waldo creek fire in CoSpgs. ![]()

Was that a typo, Freudian slip or commentary? ![]()

That's horrible... ![]()
All those houses burning
Is it true that they know who and how the fire started? Something about a firing range?

I haven't heard anything official yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was arson. There was some d-bag touching off fires from a quad near the 717 area... one of my favorite places to ride (pics in post 4 and 62). ![]()
(Where I shot the pic in post 87's up in smoke from the high park fire).
Gun ranges are easy targets for fires... realistically, it's tough to touch off a fire from casual shooting. 50BMG firing incendiary/tracer rounds into something flammable, yes... 40-cal JHP into a steel target, not happening.
Not saying it can't happen, or that's not the cause... but i'd bet more on arson or gross negligence than just from a shooting area.
Denver Post has a slideshow with some good photos from the fire.

Bloody horrible..
Excellent photos.
Plus there is a link to streaming video.
Tried to watch it on CNN, but all I saw was politics. We get 10 sec on it on the local news.
Hope Dennis is doing well..
Hope you're doing well too, SnowMule. Are you affected by the fires / evacuation? Is your home safe?
Thanks for the links.

I'm okay. Smoky where I'm working. Even smoky at home. It seems that the entire state has spontaneously combusted. I know someone who lost their house so I have no real reason to complain.
p.s. I know it's unlikely that a fire can get started from a firing range but so much shooting takes place on federal land by idiots that just go out and start blazing away. I know of one small fire that was started in an area north of where I am.

This spring/summer has been unusually dry and hot over here... I've never see wood that dry... ever..

I'm still well clear of things, but have views of the smoke from both FtC and CoSpgs from my house.
