What was the original placement of the invisible labels?

Even LV 2012 will not move them and I am not sure it should. I would be irritated if carefully placed hidden labels would all move to the right when showing the labels. This entire thing is quite problematic, because it should also depend on the autosizing settings of the cluster.

Maybe a "select cluster", press the cleanup button or some QD shortcut would be more useful.

Vote for this idea!!! This annoyance has been bugging me almost daily for years. The idea is very popular, years old but still considered "new". What could be so hard giving block diagram constants a "size to text" feature? It can already be done on front panel controls.

What has to happen to an idea before it either gets sent to beta or declined? Just leaving really good ideas to rot is kind of frustrating.

Back in 2010, my convolution idea only had 4 votes. Now, 4 years later, it has 14 😞

The current illogical limitation triggers unecessary forum questions.  Maybe I should report it as a bug instead. 😄

(I consider it a bug that the 2D version have a size input, but somebody simply forgot to add it to the 1D versions. There should be a CAR for this. Yes, I know that the 1D versions are quite a bit older, but that idea should have been implemented at the time when the 2D version were added)
