Using can for devicenet

I have just recently been looking at Devicenet and CAN. I need to use devicenet and want to use usb for an interface to the pc with labview. However, NI doesn't have a devicenet product that uses usb. Can I use the usb CAN to impliment devicenet? If so how hard would it be?

Hello,
Device-Net is CAN. It just is a specific protocol used on the CAN bus and the Device-Net card has a protocol stack driver included to know how to deal with Device-Net messages. Except this difference and the connector it is the same card. Following link will explain it better.
Good luck wiht everything.
Regard.

freemason,

I would create a new thread. I doubt mbrewers will reply after eight years. This link might be interesting to you, however. It explains the difference between DeviceNet and CAN, like NIyer mentioned.
