How can configure kuebler encoder using NI USB 8473s ?

Dear Sir,

I want to interface Kueber make multiturn encoder with NI USB-8473s for measuring speed and revolution of our robotic joint.

Actually, i am new user for CANOpen protocol as well as USB 8473s.

Currently, i have test this encoder in NI MAX. When i run CAN bus monitor, i have seen one arb.ID but how its work i don't know.

How can set my encoder address using NI MAX or LABVIEW.?

My existing setup:

1. Software for coding               : NI LABVIEW
2. CANbus to USB convertor    : NI make USB-8473s
3. Breakout box                          : NI make CAN breakout box
4. Encoder                                  : Kuebler make 8.F3688.2423.2112
5. Power adapter for CAN breakout box : 12 VDC, 1A

I have attached here images.

Please tell me the best way/solution for conguring my parameters/encoder parameters.

Well you have communciation going so that is a good first step.  What does the Kueber manual say?  I'm guessing you need to request data for it to be sent since it is not sending you data automatically but instead just sent one frame of data which is likely a message sent on power up.

Dear Sir,

As per Kuebler Manual, set below parameters:

Node address   should be unique :-  factory default is 0x3F (63 decimal )
Baud rate :- factory default 250kbps
Termination :- factory default On

But, how can set node address via NI MAX?

You don't.  A node address or ID, or Arbitration ID is part of the message.  When the message is sent, you send along with it the ID, and the payload.  The ID helps with prioritiy of the message, and will cause a lower priority message to not go out properly.

We don't find RS 485 port in NI Max.

We do not find any modbus port in Device Manager as well as NI-Max.
