Can NI USB-8451 or NI USB-8452 be configured as an I2C SLAVE?

As the Subject Title suggests, can the NI USB-8451 or NI USB-8452 be configured as an I2C SLAVE?

Has anyone done this successfully, is it likely to be possible?

We have a test subject which operates as an I2C master, we would like to emulate the complete system by connecting a slave to the test subject whose response is programmable.

Wondering if either of these NI units would be suitable.

Thanks

Alan

This is not a feature that is currently supported by the NI USB-8451 or NI USB-8452. We are looking into adding this functionality to the NI USB-8452 but we cannot provide any status or timelines. However, if you are willing to post more information about your application and timeline requirements, we will certainly take your information into consideration.

Will a non OEM version of the NI USB-8452 be produced ? The max I2C clock rate (250kHz) of the NI USB-8451 is too low for some of our applications, leading us to buy third-party interfaces.

Thanks for your response. We will probably be working around this by hosting several slave devices in the Test Equipment, and switching the I2C bus (using relays) between the NI-8451 (part of the Test Equipment) and the UUT.

There is now an NI I2C slave device: NI USB-8452 as of August 2012 (NI-845x 2.1 driver)

Can the 8452 be configured as a I2C slave?'

Nevermind. I just read the manual. It looks like it can. Thanks.
