CF to pcmcia for pocketpc application

So far I have tried a cf-pcmcia converter from the company accurite that uses 5v output and a cf-pcmcia converter from semsons.com that uses 3.3v

I am trying to run the NI CAN/2 Series 2 PCMCIA Card on an axim x5 on one of these adapters. The modules are compiled by Labview PDA and when i run it on the pocketpc I get errors.
So I try to connect the can card to the adapter then connect that to the laptop, here is the error output:

I've successfully run both DAQ and CAN cards in an IPaq 5550 with a PCMCIA sleeve.

I'm sure you've done this already, but just to make sure...Have you installed the CAN drivers to the PDA?

Most likely I'd say this is a problem with the CF to PCMCIA adapter and not the PDA itself. But that's just a guess.

yes I installed the driver. In using phm device manager it shows as registered but I dont know if the pinout of the NICAN uses more than the 55pins compact flash has.
Can I get a confirmation from a NI engineer.

So you said the ipaq 5555 works, any others?

I don't imagine that a compact flash adapter would be able to handle the CAN requirements; National Instruments has not tested any and they are not officially supported.  I would recommend using a PCMCIA sleeve (see HP iPAQ h5500 Pocket PC series Options & accessories) as Ed has done.

Good luck!

The 5550 is the only one I've tried with PCMCIA.

thanks for your response.

Have you ran both cards at same time using the dual PC-Card expansion pack? is it possible to run a VI off the ipaq that can use both cards at once?

No, I only have a single slot sleeve.
