Hi All ,
I have two Non NI CAN hardware i.e. Intrepid CAN hardware (i.e. ValueCAN3) & Vector CAN hardware (i.e. CANanylzer). Can I use these hardware with NI LabVIEW 8.5. Is NI CAN API are compatible with these hardware ?
Thanks in Advance

Hi All,
It is possible to communicate with ValueCAN using Labview. You need to install neoVI driver & there are few example available at intrepids site, which can be used for read/ write CAN port. Value CAN is USB high speed serial communication., so you need to check in which COM port it is adding to you system.
Also vector provide Labview driver for the CANcaseXL.

Hi,
I have a CANcaseXL and I want to build a small program to send and receive a few CAN frammes, but using the Vector LabVIEW Library I get "No license" error.
Is there a way to comunicate with this device without the Vector LabVIEW Library? I don't know my license key.
I apreciate all the help.

Daniel Coelho

Hi,
I called the technical support of the canCaseXL, and It is a non free option... I don't think that it is possible to use this card with Labview without paying anything !
I hope it's a mistake !
Let me know if you can solve this problem !
Best regards,
Vincent

Is there any other way to build a program for the CANcaseXL device without LabVIEW? Using LabWindowsCVI or simple ANSI C or Visual Basic.NET?

I managed to put my hands on a VECTOR CD where I could find some libraries to be used with C++, C# and VB.
There are also some examples on how to implement a simple code with those libraries.
I had a confirmation from VECTOR that LabVIEW Library is paid.
I hope that these libraries are as easy to use as LabWindows CAN Libraries 🙂
regards.

I have same kind kind of query:
I want to know how we can use the "XL driver library" with "Labview" to send/ receive CAN commands.
Could you please provide any example vi for the same.
Thanks in advance.

There is now a reasonably complete wrapper library for the vxlapi.dll uploaded to the NI Developer Community.
You may wish to have a look at it if you're developing for the Vector XL hardware.
