Maximum frequency for the Digital Counter Input

Hi everybody,

for measuring the speed of a rotating wheel, we drilled 36 holes in a disc and detect with a optical sensor the rotation. Which means that at maximum speed of the wheel, our optical Sensor will output a TTL Signal with a frequency of 3200 Hz. (3200 times high and low a second).

The question: Is NI MyDAQ able to measure with a digital input (Or the counter) such a high frequency. Our target is to measure the speed of the wheel and to draw a graph over time.

Thanx very much for replies and your help!

Re: Maximum frequency for the Digital Counter Input

Hi Henrik,

tanx very much for your reply and help, in fact you are right and the DAQ had no problem with this "high" frequency (By the time we set up our sensoro with DAQ)!

Greetings back from Germany (Hätt ich mir mein schlechtes englisch ja sparen können... :-)
