Can you also post a screenshot of the myDAQ in Device manager in 'Devices by connection' mode:

  1. Connect the myDAQ
  2. Open Device Manager
  3. Select "View -> Devices by connection"
  4. Navigate to find the USB root hub that device is connected to as shown bellow, then take a screen capture while the entire bus hierarchy of  "USB Flash Firmware Updater" is expanded
  5. Devices by connection.pngNavigateToUSBRootHub.png

Thanks!

Yes, that is what I was looking for.

So you currently have the myDAQ connected to a USB 3.0 port.  I think your PC should have USB 2.0 ports as well.  Can you try the myDAQ in a USB 2.0 port (or maybe just every port) and see if that changes anything.

Thanks!

Wow I feel dumb. I've had this laptop for almost 3 years and I never noticed I had a USB hybrid port on the other side. I plugged it in and it's recognized fine now! Thank you and I'm sorry about all the frustration and time I took up.

Thanks again!

Hey,

I'm glad to hear it is working now.  USB 3 should be completly backwards compatible with USB 2.0 devices.  Since USB 3.0 is still fairly new I've seen provblems like this, and typically the USB Host drivers are updated by the manufacturer later to 'play nice' with more 2.0 devices.  It's also possible the DAQmx drivers could be a little lacking in this area.

Can you post a Device Manager screenshot in " Devices by connectio" mode with the myDAQ connected to the working USB port.

Thanks!

Hey ewunsch,

Can you also post the driver version for the USB controller.

  1. Return to the device manager page you posted above.
  2. Right click Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller
  3. Click the Driver tab
  4. Post a screen shot of that tab.

Thanks!
